Going Greener
Green is more than a typical turf color for us; when our DuraFlo coating is used, IRONTURF’s woven technology and polyolefin composition enables it to be fully recyclable. No other turf products on the market are currently eligible to achieve this feat.

With IRONTURF, our innovative approach to product development is a win-win for all, including the planet. Hot melt technology has long been used in geotechnical engineering and the specialty carpet industry. We’ve brought it to synthetic turf products to create our DuraFlo backing system, the most environmentally friendly option available.
100% Recyclable
Most synthetic tufted turf is created with a polyester backing and a polyurethane coating to create a suitable bond. While some tufted fields can be repurposed into other products (like plastic lumber), they cannot be used to produce new synthetic turf since the resin isn’t homogenous. Because IRONTURF is woven and doesn’t contain polyurethane, the recycled resin is homogenous and can be re-used for new fields.

Dimensional Stability and Traditional Strength of Woven Turf
The polyolefins that make up our backing absorb almost no moisture, relieving the stress on seams. Plus, our process is relatively tension free, making the backing less likely to move. Tuft bind is unaffected by coating woven turf and grab tear is much higher than traditional tufted goods.
